Gain Deeper Knowledge that Helps Change Lives — Including Yours
If you currently work in or would like to join the helping professions and work with the beauty and complexity of the human mind, emotions and spirit, then a master’s degree in psychology or counseling is a natural next step.
LeTourneau University’s online Master of Arts in Psychology, Master of Arts in School Counseling and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling prepare students to bring an advanced level of understanding to research, counseling in healthcare practices and schools, or other workplaces and help them prepare to sit for licensing exams.
Students can expect a rigorous, hands-on education led by instructors with the academic credentials and relevant professional experience to provide a real-world view on applying psychology & counseling theories.
The LeTourneau Difference
In a foundation of Christian faith, the School of Psychology & Counseling emphasizes the principles of human dignity, social justice and compassionate care as students gain the knowledge to aid in the creation of healthier individuals and communities.
LeTourneau (LETU) is committed to a rich educational experience that contributes service, care and building effective relationships to meet some of the world’s greatest health-related needs. Our programs prepare students to make a lasting, true difference in the impactful field of human behavior and mental health.
Psychology versus Counseling Degrees
The two disciplines overlap – they both involve the study of the human mind but could differ significantly in the scope of their practice, depending on the student’s goals and working environment. Counseling requires practitioners to review research and take note of the outcomes, which inform their client care decisions. Many counseling specialties require practitioners to be licensed per their state’s laws.
LETU’s advanced psychology degree offers coursework on counseling and also offers options that include classes on research and various ways to apply psychology principles in many types of environments, such as corporations and governmental facilities. Unlicensed MA of Psychology graduates can work in many capacities, including teaching and training, assisting in clinical research and administering tests.
If you’re ready to make a bigger impact on mental, emotional and spiritual health, speak with an enrollment adviser or 888-776-5166 or email enroll@letu.edu.
