      MASTER OF SCIENCE IN HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION

      Healthcare professionals who want to make the move to administration or enhance their professional standing will be interested in the Master of Science in Healthcare Administration degree. This degree is designed to improve organizational effectiveness or provide graduates with the skills to manage their own health-related business.

      The coursework addresses America’s aging population, which is a primary cause of the growth of healthcare organizations. Qualified healthcare administrators are required to lead healthcare organizations through treating age-related conditions and the increasingly complex regulatory requirements placed on health care providers.

      At LeTourneau University, you’ll follow a curriculum designed in collaboration with top-tier health care management professionals, including CEOs, CFOs, presidents and vice presidents of many local and regional hospitals across East Texas.

      Courses are often taken one at a time and last from three to seven weeks. Coursework begins on Monday each week, with most assignments due by Sunday at midnight.

      At LeTourneau University, concepts of ethics, integrity and service are interwoven throughout the coursework of each class. Topics covered include health care organization, policy, systems, regulation, finance, administration and leadership.

      LeTourneau University is named for its founder, R.G. LeTourneau, one of the world’s greatest inventors of earthmoving equipment and was founded in 1946.

      Today, more than 1,150 students attend LeTourneau University classes online or at our educational centers in Dallas and Houston and might not step foot onto the university’s beautiful main campus in Longview, Texas unless they come for graduation.

      The university has eight schools.

      Dale A. Lunsford, Ph.D.

      Professor of Business Administration and LeTourneau University President

      Dr. Dale Lunsford became the sixth president of LeTourneau University in 2007. In 2016, Lunsford celebrated his 31st year in higher education He was an award-winning business professor and academic journal editor before joining LeTourneau.

       

      Beverly Rowe, Ph.D.

      Professor of Accounting

      Dr. Beverly Rowe earned her Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas A&M University and has corporate experience in the banking, retail, distribution, and manufacturing sectors. Dr. Rowe’s research includes auditing, usefulness of accounting information, performance measurement, and education. She has received the Outstanding Contributor award from the Institute of Internal Auditors and Best Paper awards for her work in academic and education research in accounting. Dr. Rowe is a highly respected instructor with over 15 years of experience teaching accounting at the graduate and undergraduate levels.  Dr. Rowe lives with her husband and four of her children in Longview, Texas.  Her main focus is serving our Lord Jesus Christ in every area of her life.

       

      Misti Harriss, MBA

      Instructor, Marketing

      Misti Harriss received a BBA from Baylor University and an MBA from The University of North Texas. Ms. Harriss has 15 years of experience teaching marketing and business-related classes online and in the classroom. She prides herself on being a practitioner-teacher and tries to bring as much hands-on experience as possible into the learning environment, through real-time projects outside the classroom and real-world case study analysis in the classroom.

      She has worked in several different industries, including Energy, Retail, Telecommunications, and Sports Entertainment. She has experience with non-profit management and fundraising, including managing volunteers, donor acquisition and retention. She has worked on both the agency and corporate side of marketing. She has experience in B2B and B2C markets. She has worked in product development and management, advertising, public relations, corporate communications, event planning, personal selling, direct mail, and crisis management.

      Her special interests revolve around Sports Marketing, Social Media, and Relationship Marketing. She is passionate about teaching students how to develop meaningful, long-term relationships with all stakeholders in a dynamic, digitally driven communications and marketing world.

       

      Bob Wharton, Ph.D.

      Professor of Business

      Bob Wharton’s academic career has spanned 42 years in public and private institutions.  After starting with his first appointment at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, he then moved on to Christian higher education in Florida, Tennessee and now Texas.  Bob has been at LeTourneau University since 2008.  His research interests include economic development and leadership, especially as it relates to the impact of global and cultural differences.  Working with students on research projects has been a significant part of Bob’s work over the years, and many have successfully presented and published their work. Bob has been married to Linda for 45 years. They have two children and two grandsons.
